The Warrior’s Creed
Jan 18, 2021
Many a time, the world dangles
failure in my face
and darkness extends
till the end of the tunnel
Many a time, I am mocked for my scars,
vestige of my bullheaded pull
through this jungle of life
Many a time, my muscles jump under my skin
and my trembling legs are up close
to my body’s core
Even in those times,
When the weight of it all
promises to be the end of me
My lips, the heroes of my self
come to my aid,
accompanied by the warrior’s creed:
“I will lay me down a while
to bleed, then I rise and fight again”
